Nicholas Frattaroli shows no sign of slowing down. Just months after opening North Square Oyster, he’s at it again with a departure from his Italian roots (albeit one that’s no less delicious). Bodega Canal will be the newest addition to the West End’s continued resurgence, serving a menu of vibrant and bold flavors of elevated Mexican fare – think mole short rib or buttered lobster tacos.

Beyond the menu, the restaurant will boast a “rustic luxe” aesthetic, decorated with grand chandeliers, reclaimed wood and exposed concrete to create the look of a timeworn Mexican mansion. Expect sangria, margaritas and Spanish wines at the bar, overseen by sister restaurant Ward 8’s General Manager Mike Wyatt.
