  • Taco Azul is founded on the principle of a focused menu that is executed perfectly consistently – 4 starters, 10 tacos, and a few beverages.
  • Taco Azul is centered around Blue Corn (Maiz Azul) and Blue Agave (Agave Azul), hence “Azul” in the name. All tortillas and chips are made with Blue Corn, and all margaritas are made using tequila distilled from Blue Agave.

Kitchen Manager – Roles & Responsibilities

  • Ensuring food quality by cooking and prepping food to order, and following kitchen procedures
  • Monitoring food waste and inventory levels, and resolving food quality issues
  • Supporting a strong team dynamic between back of house Crew and front of house Crew
  • Communicating with kitchen team members and customers effectively in order to ensure great customer service and throughput
  • Ensuring the kitchen is properly cleaned and sanitized
  • Monitoring kitchen equipment and ensuring it is kept in good repair; making sure malfunctioning equipment is repaired as quickly as possible
  • Ensuring that the kitchen itself and all kitchen team members meet the necessary guidelines to ensure there are no injuries or accidents
  • Complete operational support functions (i.e. Purchasing, Receiving, Inventory, Inventory Rotation (FIFO), etc.)
  • Serve as a role model for high quality, hands on, kitchen management
  • Maintain food service and production levels by leading strong BOH execution

Qualifications

  • 1 years in a kitchen management role, or 3 years as a line cook
  • Experience in fast casual restaurant chains (preferred)
  • A passion for food and restaurant operations
  • Desire to make an impact on customers and team members.
  • A can-do work ethic and the ability to take initiative on projects.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and build an efficient team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Belief in and passion for Taco Azul’s core values.
  • Strong leadership behaviors, approachability, and a reputation as role model.
  • ServSafe Manager Certification
