Prima – Sous Chef/Chef de Cuisine

The team at Prima Italian Steakhouse is looking for a hardworking, enthusiastic, team-oriented Sous Chef to help lead our fast paced & already acclaimed restaurant here in Charlestown.

We are open seven days a week for dinner, brunch on the weekends, and pride ourselves on our ever changing menu of regional Italian classics (including our Italian American favorites) as well as extensive butchery & pasta programs to keep the scratch steakhouse feel for us alive.

The Sous Chef/Chef de Cuisine will work alongside the Executive Chef to…

  • design and implement menu changes
  • hire and train kitchen staff
  • educate and progress FOH employees
  • prepare daily specials
  • optimize staff productivity
  • maintain a healthy culture and communication throughout the entire operation
  • enforce safety and sanitation standards in the kitchen

Ideal candidates should have strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in a high pressure, fast paced environment. This position requires model integrity and a positive attitude, in-depth knowledge of cooking techniques and flavor profiles, creative thinking, and a team-first mentality. Candidates should have prior experience managing and operating a restaurant kitchen, but we are also willing to train candidates looking to make the leap into kitchen management.
