Eva on Newbury Street is seeking a Dining Room Manager/Bar Manager to join their team. They are looking for an enthusiastic, organized, and responsible individual with experience bartending and floor management to assist managing the general operations of the restaurant and the bar. Applicants should have a genuine love of hospitality and understand the importance of building relationships with both guests and team members.
Responsibilities include:
As Bar Manager:
Responsible for managing bar staff, ordering, beverage inventory, controlling beverage costs, preparing and creating cocktails in accordance with Eva’s standards. They seek someone who is a self-starter, and who is passionate about service, food, wine, local beer, and craft cocktails.
As Floor Manager:
Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, including:
- Customer service: Training staff to provide quality service, including greeting guests, making recommendations, and describing specials
- Maintaining flow: Ensuring the restaurant floor runs smoothly
- Managing staff: Supervising and directing staff, and helping to fill position shortages
- Compliance: Ensuring the restaurant complies with company policies, laws, and ordinances
- Image: Maintaining the restaurant’s professional image, including cleanliness and appearance standards
- Guest experience: Ensuring a positive experience for guests, and responding to complaints
- Conflict resolution: Resolving conflicts as they arise to prevent teamwork from breaking down
Qualifications
- 2+ years leading or managing a front-of-house restaurant team
- 2+ year of Bartending
- Solid understanding of steps of service
- Outstanding communication, leadership and problem-solving skills
Job Requirements
- Availability to work onsite with a flexible schedule often including evenings, weekends and holidays
- This position reports directly to the General Manager.
