You already know that the streets of Somerville are filled with tastemakers, so don’t miss out on a chance to try a little bit of everything all at once at the return of the Taste of Somerville on Wednesday, June 14th Thursday, June 15th outdoors at Assembly Row’s Baxter Riverfront Park.
The Taste is back after a three-year hiatus, and it promises to be as good as (maybe even better than) you remember, with more than 50 restaurants, hangouts, brewers and distillers all in one big food-loving street fair from 5:00 to 8:00pm, including the likes of Celeste, Fat Hen, Five Horses Tavern, Foundry on Elm, La Brasa, Juliet, Saloon, Salt + Stone, The Smoke Shop, and many more. There’ll be lots of tipples, too, so don’t forget your ID as Remnant Brewing, Aeronaut Brewing Company, and Portico Brewing will be heading up the beers department, plus Sav Mor Liquors will be pouring sips as will Charlestown’s Chattermark Distillers, and your friends from Aperol will have the spritzes flowing. Tito’s Handmade Vodka will also be shaking up some classics and riffs at the main event as well as in the “Tito’s VIP Lounge,” where you can also slurp an Island Creek Oyster or two.
Tickets for the Taste start at $57.50 for a general admission pass, which includes unlimited food and beverage tastings, or you can get fancy with a VIP ticket that includes exclusive food tastings from select restaurants and hand-crafted cocktail tastings for $83.50. A portion of the proceeds from this year’s event will go to the Somerville Education Foundation (SEF), which will help them support basic needs, out-of-school time, and workforce development for Somerville’s young people.
