Support F&B Mental Health

Southern Smoke

Take a break from binging “The Bear” on Monday, July 15th and join chefs Karen Akunowicz, Stephanie Izard and Jamie Bissonnette at Bar Volpe for the Boston launch of Behind You, a no-cost counseling program for food and beverage workers. Backed by the Southern Smoke Foundation, which helps out peeps in the food and hospitality biz with unforeseen financial hardships, the Behind You program has already been helping everyone from farmers to fry cooks pay for the often prohibitive cost of talking to a therapist in California, Illinois, Louisiana, New York, Texas, and now it’s the Bay State’s turn to get a helping hand. All you have to do to support their efforts here in The Hub is snag a ticket for a fab four-course dinner at Akunowicz’s stylish Southie pastificio starting at 6:00pm. The monies will go towards grants that provide up to 20 no-cost counseling sessions for anyone in the industry who needs it, and that’s definitely a good reason to clink some glasses and have a good time. Check out more info about Behind You on the foundation’s website and give Bar Volpe a call at 617.865.7100 if you have any Qs.
