Celebrate Bastille Day in Cambridge

The Charles Hotel

Paris can wait, because you’ve got a date with some of your favorite Cantabrigians on Sunday, July 14th for a Bastille Day celebration at The Charles Hotel. The lower courtyard is going to be all decked out from 4:00 to 9:00pm with an open-air pastry market, including tents from French-inspired bakeries and bakers like PRB Boulangerie, La Saison, and Noir who will compete for the honor of best éclair. There’ll be family games like boateng and pétanque, live traditional French accordion music, and you can’t miss the Course des Cafés, a waiter race that’s been a tradition for 110 years. If you get your fill of pastries you can cool down with a sip of Campari at One Reason Garden Bar, and be sure to raise your glass to a joyeux quatorze juillet, which is celebrated in France to commemorate the storming of the Bastille in 1789.
