Sommeliers Face Off at UpStairs on the Square

The ladies of UpStairs on the Square are not afraid of a little competition – especially if they’re just hosting it. On Thursday, July 26th Mary Catherine Deibel and Deborah Hughes welcome the Antinori Battle of the Sommeliers to their Winthrop Street dining room. The competition, sponsored by the Sommelier Journal, pits Boston’s own Brahm Callahan of Grill 23 against Sebastian Verrier of Miami’s St. Regis Bal Harbour. The two wine pros will be each be pairing wines from the Antinori portfolio with hors d’oeuvres and a multi-course menu from chef Susan Regis. The meal, which gets underway at 6:30pm, costs $110 per person which covers dinner, wines and a one year subscription to Sommelier’s Journal.
