Bacon and Beer Week

It's that time again - the Bacon and Beer Festival is back on Saturday, April 28th. This year, Eat Boston (that'd be the dynamic duo of Will Gilson and Aaron Cohen) can't contain all the porky goodness to only one day so they're extending it to a full week of restaurant specials, an art show, a bacon and beer harbor cruise and  a special porky edition of Chef Louie Night.

The kick-off festival will feature bacony bites from restaurants like Aquitaine, Bambara, Ceia Kitchen + Bardante, The Fireplace, Garden at the Cellar, Gaslight, Harvest, KO Prime, Petit Robert Central, Tastings, Tavolo, Tremont 647 and Union as well as a bunch of beers from dozens of local breweries. This year, proceeds from each $37 ticket go to benefit Lovin' Spoonfuls and Community Servings. Tickets for the event, which runs from 2:30 to 5:00pm at the House of Blues, go on sale on April 4th but you've got to be on the Eat mailing list to get all the details. Visit their website to sign up.

The porcine deliciousness doesn't end on Saturday though.  This year, thanks to a partnership with BostonChefs.com, restaurants all over the city will be extending the pork-and-suds fun from Sunday, April 29th to Saturday, May 5th.  Spots like Franklin Southie, UpStairs on the Square and Poe's Kitchen at the Rattlesnake are honoring this most tasty of pairings in their own special way, whether it be through nightly specials, prix fixe menus or a full-blown event (we hear there's a pig roast planned).  Even some foodtrucks are getting in on the fun. See all the details by visiting www.BaconAndBeerWeek.com and then call the individual restaurants for reservations.
