13th Annual Boston Bakes for Breast Cancer

Bigger than ever, Boston Bakes for Breast Cancer is back. The annual, week-long event, which has raised nearly $600,000 since its inception in 2000, gets pastry chefs, bakers, cake makers and confectioners baking for a good cause. All you and your sweet tooth have to do is order dessert at any of the 250+ participating restaurants, cafes, bakeries and shops, and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute to support breast cancer research and care. Peruse the full list, then plan your outing(s) sometime between Monday, May 7th and Sunday, May 13th and enjoy something sweet – maybe a slice of olive oil cake from Aragosta; a chocolate panna cotta from Ristorante Olivio or chocolate Chambord raspberry mousse cake at Regatta of Cotuit. If you can’t find a convenient location (though there are spots all over the place including the Cape and Islands) you can order your goodies online and have them delivered right to your (or someone else’s) door. With so many delicious desserts to be had and so much do-gooding to be done, you’d better start formulating a plan. Get all the details you could possibly need – including other ways of getting involved – through the Boston Bakes website.
