The Greater Boston Beverage Society, a recently formed not-for-profit group which aims to develop, preserve and promote Boston’s cocktail and hospitality culture, wants you to shake it up, baby. On Sunday, November 13th from 5:00 to 11:00pm the House of Blues will become the house of booze when it plays host to Shakin’ It Up, a gala that will feature cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, live music, comedy, a silent auction and the left bank v. right back bartender competition which aims to see which side of the Charles has got the most talent behind the bar. Proceeds from tickets, which cost $40 per person in advance and $50 at the door, go to support the Beverage Society’s Boston Cocktail Summit Initiative, a three day event slated for next October that’ll highlight all the fabulous mixologists, brewers, distillers and vintners that the area has to offer.
