In keeping with the latest economic trends, proprietresses Mary Catherine Deibel and Deborah Hughes are going south - to Provence - in the next wine series at UpStairs on the Square. Book a table from Tuesday, July 7th through Friday, July 10th to join them on their vinicultural and culinary tour, which features southern French specialties from chef Steven Brand, matched with some spectacularly well-suited rosés. The four-course menu, full of Provencal flavors and ingredients (slow-roasted tomatoes, garlic, eggplant, aioli, lavender), costs $45 per person (or $70 with wine pairings) and is available by reservation throughout the evening. Get to know these oft maligned wines and see how they pair with the southern French fare to create a perfect summer meal. Call 617.864.1933.
