Late Summer’s Finest at 80 Thoreau

Few things represent late summer in New England better than corn and tomatoes; these late bloomers hit peak ripeness right before the back-to-school shopping season. For the third year running, 80 Thoreau celebrates these wonderful quintessential summer flavors with a four-course Corn & Tomato Menu available from Tuesday, August 5th until Saturday, August 16th. Sourcing goodies from the many farms that surround her Concord restaurant, chef Carolyn Johnson incorporates the duo into dishes like smoked duck breast with charred corn, tomato jam and purslane as well as pan seared bluefish with johnnycakes, cherry tomatoes and kale all of which will make you wish the summer could last just a little longer.
