This holiday season, a group of Boston area nonprofits will be working together to end homelessness with the launch of Hearth Shares – a fundraising initiative based on London’s renowned StreetSmart program. Throughout November and December, Hearth Shares will give Boston area restaurants the ability to ask diners to add a voluntary donation of $1 or more to their bill. The program is underwritten by Citizens Bank, which means 100% of the proceeds will directly impact the work being done in the Boston community to end homelessness. Big names in the hospitality industry – Ming Tsai, Chris Douglass, Jeffrey Gates, Jeff Fournier and Tiffani Faison, for starters – have already signed.
