Celebrate Persian New Year in Somerville

The arrival of spring is always a welcomed event here in New England and chef Josh Lewin of the Beacon Hill Bistro is offering an exotic way of embracing the warmer weather. On Sunday, March 23rd, Lewin and partner-in-crime Katrina Jazayeri of Belly present Nowruz, a Persian New Year celebration at Anthony’s Function Hall in Somerville. The duo, whove collaborated on a couple previous pop-ups, are enlisting Geoff Lukas of Sofra Bakery and Lenagev Middle Eastern Pop Ups as well as Louisa Shafia, author of The New Persian Kitchen To help them with the party which includes an exclusive VIP dinner and cocktail reception. Celebrate Nowruz however you see fit: the VIP dinner, which costs $125 per person, starts at 6:30pm, while the cocktail reception , which costs $35 per person, begins at 8:30pm. The VIP session includes a multi-course meal, beverage pairings and entrance to the cocktail reception while the general session includes two drink tickets, food and activities.
