Since the weather outside has already been quite frightful (pretty much since June) get yourself some holiday cheer a little early - the annual Christmas Festival at the Seaport World Trade Center is scheduled for Friday, November 6th through Sunday the 8th. Enjoy the fruits of over 350 artisans' labor as they showcase their handcrafted holiday themed goods. Also, enjoy some sweet competition at the 16th annual Gingerbread House Competition where you'll see confectionary construction from local chefs and pastry chefs including Nicole Coady of Finale, Maria Cavaleri Gilardo of Tosca, Theresa Verazzaro of Sweet Things and Beth Veneto of Ginger Betty's Bakery. Each house is up for sale - the proceeds benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Boston. Tickets to the event, which runs from noon to 5:00pm on Friday, 10:00am to 7:00pm on Saturday and 10:00am to 5:00pm on Sunday, are available at the door for $12 ($10 for seniors and free for the children under 14). For more information, visit their website and get into the spirit of the season.
